I love Anne of Green Gables, the whole collection is a breath of fresh air. Today is the birthday of Lucy Maud Montgomery the creator of The lovely Anne Shirley. She became a published writer in 1897 and wrote over 100 stories by 1907.She began writing her famous Anne Shirley Novels in 1908.
Fun Fact: Megan Follows the actress who played Anne Shirley
in the T.V. adaptation, won 2 Gemini Award for Best Performance by a Lead Actress.

When I was trying to pick my own quote yesterday to honor L.M. Montgomery, I was surprised (although I don’t know why) at the sheer volume of fantastic quotes from her Anne Shirley series. I love the one you picked! I finally chose her one about kindred spirits. 🙂

She is!? I have that show saved in my queue but haven’t started watching it yet. Darn business. I may have to pull a late nighter so I can watch it. 🙂

It definitely plays fast and loose with history but the costumes are gorgeous, and it’s soap opera drama is kind of fun. Megan Follows is awesome and you’ll both love and hate her!

I visited her childhood home on Prince Edward Island years ago. Apparently the books are big in Japan, too, so there was a real crush of Japanese tourists that day.
